Welcome to "Istillwritecards"
We make beautiful limited-edition postcards from my original artworks. I am Christine Eder, an artist and painter.
For nearly 30 years, painting has been my refuge from hectic everyday life and the challenges of raising three children. During the last several years, I have been so blessed to be able to dedicate all my time and passion to my art.
My family and I have lived in the United States, Sweden, Great Britain and Egypt. We have gone through many changes and I have always tried to capture on canvas the most significant moments of this long journey.
Whether my pictures portray faces on a bitter cold November day in Central park, or kids happily playing in Zamalek, or whether I have just painted a colorful bouquet of flowers in a vase during a fantastic Midsommar evening – it is all about memorable occasions.
I mostly paint in watercolor but recently I have started to work with acrylic and mixed media, which I absolutely love.
For a long time, I have had the desire to share my art with a larger audience but I could never let go of the originals because they mean so much to me. So we came up with the idea of turning my paintings into postcards.
Cards make people smile and they are an intimate way to tell somebody that you care about them. They allow you to send a person a small painting and to tell them “I miss you”, “I love you”, “Thank you” or “Get well soon”. And they leave a much more lasting impression than any electronic medium ever could.
On the other hand, all of our images can simply be enjoyed as pieces of fine art you keep for yourself. Think of the store as a kind of gallery – I invite you to browse the motifs, to ponder the associated poems and to have a look at our regular blog. Maybe you’ll see something you like.
Istillwritecards is a small team, situated just outside Vienna, with a handful of passionate and enthusiastic members. One of them is my son, Clemens, who is an artist in his own right and a gifted photographer. Another is our blogger, David, who is writing a modern declaration of love to art & postcards.
Keep the art of card writing alive!
